It started innocently enough. I’ve never grown vegetables before and in February of 2008 I decided to try my hand at growing some in containers on my deck. I live a metro Atlanta and have a backyard full of trees and shade. But, I have a small section on my deck that gets about 6-7 hours of sunlight a day. So, I built a small 3′ x 4′ cedar box and started some seeds inside until it was warm enough to plant outside. Well, that one small box has become one small box, 12 or so additional pots, an automated watering system and some guardian garden gnomes.
