I’ve added a photo today of additional pea blossoms. I have about 8 full flowers now and about 20 others that haven’t flowered yet. The peas have more or less stopped growing. I suspect that’s a result of the warm weather that we’ve had recently. I guess Peas aren’t a traditional southern crop, but I chose them because I read they were easy to grow and didn’t have a lot of pest issues. So far that’s been true, I’ve found them to be very easy to grow and hopefully they’ll produce over the coming weeks to give us some great tasting peas.

The second photo is a close-up of my irrigation system watering my eggplants, peppers and some of my tomatoes. They’re all really starting to grow well, and hopefully I’ve chosen the right sized pots for each of these vegetables.

We went to SC for a long weekend and came back with a new Grapefruit tree, Lemon basil, Thai basil, Parsley, Cilantro, and Stevia. Stevia is an herb that is used as a sweetener substitute. I also have a Meyer Lemon on order and will hopefully be getting it sometime in May. The smell of the grapefruit tree blossoms are incredible. Unfortunately, the picture i’ve attached doesn’t include the grapefruit tree or any of the new herbs. Maybe next post.
The biggest addition is an idea from my dad. He had an irrigation system built from parts he bought at Lowes. So i went to Lowes and bought some too. It probably cost about $75 total and about $30 of that was for the timer that hooks up to the hose. When i got home, i hooked everything up in less than 45 minutes and now don’t have to worry about remembering to water everything.
