I had to reorganize my layout this weekend. My plants weren’t getting enough sun, so i had to move them more into the middle of the deck. It’s not pretty looking, but i think they should be ok now….

The peas are really growing and should be ready to be picked in another week or so.

I think the tomatoes will start to flower soon. Each plant is between 12-18 inches tall.

It’s been about a week since i’ve noticed the first pea pods. We have many of them now, but the peas are really starting to droop and wilt. I hope they make it for a few more weeks.

Also, the tomatoes and peppers are really starting to grow. The eggplant is looking better but still hasn’t grown much. I think it’s still a little cool for them. I may need to reorganize my layout a bit. The leaves on all our trees have finally come out and the deck is a little shady in the area where we’ve placed the pots. I think we’ll end up moving them toward the middle of the deck so they get enough sun. It doesn’t seem to have affected any growth yet, but i’m worried that it might.

I’ve added a photo today of additional pea blossoms. I have about 8 full flowers now and about 20 others that haven’t flowered yet. The peas have more or less stopped growing. I suspect that’s a result of the warm weather that we’ve had recently. I guess Peas aren’t a traditional southern crop, but I chose them because I read they were easy to grow and didn’t have a lot of pest issues. So far that’s been true, I’ve found them to be very easy to grow and hopefully they’ll produce over the coming weeks to give us some great tasting peas.

The second photo is a close-up of my irrigation system watering my eggplants, peppers and some of my tomatoes. They’re all really starting to grow well, and hopefully I’ve chosen the right sized pots for each of these vegetables.
